Fares, offers and payment
Fares quoted are calculated from the trip details you provide — trip type, distance, duration and vehicle. Your quote itemises what is included and shows driver allowance, toll, parking, permit and any other applicable charge as separate line items. The final amount payable is based on actual usage where the trip differs from what was planned.
Any occasional or special offer we introduce may carry additional terms and conditions, which you must comply with in order to avail that offer.
Trip terms
These cover the trip itself. They are printed in full on your quotation and on your booking confirmation.
- What the tariff covers. The tariff covers the vehicle, its fuel and the driver’s service. Everything else is charged separately, as itemised on your quote.
- Driver bata. The driver’s daily allowance is calculated on a calendar-day basis, so additional nights or days are charged accordingly.
- Standing AC. Standing AC — the vehicle parked with the engine and air conditioning running — is free for 10 minutes. Beyond that, on request, it is charged per 30 minutes: ₹500 for a sedan, ₹1,000 for a premium sedan or van, and ₹2,000 for a bus.
- Cleanliness and damage. The vehicle is handed to you clean and we ask that it comes back that way. Stains, odour, spillage, vomiting, urination, alcohol or food spills, or any damage caused inside the vehicle during the trip are recovered at cost — deep cleaning, water wash, seat cleaning, mat or seat-cover replacement, or any material replacement.
- How long a quote holds. A quoted fare is valid until the date shown on the quotation. Prices may change after that date, including in response to fuel price movements, so please confirm the current price before you book.
- Availability. The vehicle models and facilities shown are subject to availability. Where necessary a vehicle may be substituted with an equivalent or better one.
Detours and changes to your trip
Your fare is worked out for the route, stops and itinerary agreed on your quotation and booking confirmation. If the trip changes on the day, the extra is charged as set out below.
- What counts as a detour. Any change you ask for from the agreed plan — a place or stop not in the itinerary, a different or longer route, an extra pickup or drop, or taking the vehicle outside the city on a local package.
- What is not a detour. Route changes our driver has to make because of road closures, police or authority diversions, or for safety. These are charged at the normal excess rate only, with no premium.
- How a detour is charged. The extra kilometres and time the detour adds are charged at a premium cost over the stated excess rate, as stated in your quotation and booking confirmation or as agreed with us. The premium applies only to the detour, never to the rest of your trip.
- Other costs a detour can add. Tolls, parking, entry fees and inter-state permits on the detour are charged at actuals. If the detour takes the trip into another calendar day or overnight, the extra day, driver bata and night charges apply.
- Agree it first. Please tell the driver and call us before the detour starts — we will confirm the cost to you. The driver cannot agree a price on our behalf.
- When we may decline. We may refuse a detour that is unsafe, unlawful, not covered by the vehicle’s permits, or that would take the driver beyond safe driving hours.
- How it is paid. The detour charge is added to your final bill and is payable to SARA CAB only — never to the driver in cash.
- Places you skip. Leaving out a planned stop does not reduce the fare, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
How it applies by type of trip
- Outstation or city-to-city (per km). The detour’s extra kilometres at the excess rate plus the detour premium.
- Local package (for example 8 hrs / 80 km). Within the city and within the included hours and kilometres there is no detour charge. Leaving the city makes it an outstation trip.
- Tour package (fixed price). Places not in the itinerary — their extra kilometres at the excess rate plus the detour premium, plus an extra day if the trip runs over.
- Airport transfer. Each extra stop — its extra kilometres at the excess rate plus the detour premium, plus waiting time.
Cancellation and refunds
If you need to cancel a booking, our cancellation charges and refund process are set out in full on our Payment Terms and Cancellation Policy page. Cancelling earlier costs less.
